Your questions, answered.

Are you a member of the CWELCC?
Wildlings Early Learning is an independent home childcare program and is not enrolled in the Canada-Wide Early Learning Child Care Act. This allows me to offer a more personalized, flexible and Montessori inspired experience for each child.
This childcare program is not licensed by the Government of Ontario.
Although not licenced, I am still required, and do adhere to, the Child Care and Early Years Act, 2014 (CCEYA).
Are you an accredited Montessori School?
Wildlings Early Learning is not an accredited Montessori Program. It is programed using Montessori- inspired practices (developed by me) within a small home-based environment. Accreditation is a future goal as the program grows.
What is the Montessori method, and how does it prepare my child for school?
The Montessori approach is designed around each child’s unique needs, fostering growth through five core areas: practical life, sensorial exploration, language, mathematics, and culture & science.
How is progress measured?
Progress is assessed through daily observation and documentation for each child’s development. I look at five core areas of a child’s development. Social, emotional, cognitive, physical and language. Since every child learns differently, I focus on their individual progress, and I communicate regularly with parents through documentation and discussions on their child’s progress.
Will you have mixed ages?
Yes, the program will offer a mixed-age group setting, allowing children of different developmental stages to learn and grow together.
What are the ratios?
Infants (3 – 18 months) – 1 Educator 3 babies
Toddlers (18 – 30 months) – 1 Educator 5 Children
Preschool (2.5-6 years) – 1 Educator 5 children
As I’m the only educator right now, I can only have a total of five children including all age groups. Examples: a) 3 infants with two toddlers. b) 5 toddlers or 5 preschoolers. c) 2 infants 3 toddlers.
What is the daily routine?
I will have a daily schedule. There will be monthly planned activities and themes that I will follow according to the children’s interests. Activities will be provided to you electronically and will be posted.
Do you offer any aftercare options?
No, I do not offer any after care options now. I will explore this option as the program grows.
How do you handle discipline or behavioral issues?
I approach discipline with a focus on guidance. I’ll be taking time to understand the root of each behaviour and support children in learning appropriate ways to express their feelings. Through consistency, clear boundaries, and positive reinforcement, they’ll learn respect for others and problem-solving skills.
How much structure vs. freedom is there?
There will be a balanced approach and time made for both.
Will my child transition easily to grade school?
Yes, your child will gain the skills and confidence needed to succeed in school and handle everyday tasks independently. Most importantly they will develop social skills.
